While listening to a podcast, I came across a statement that resonated with my spirit.
The speaker used this phrase, delay the decay.
For many people, those outside of the current hotspots of trouble and unrest, there doesn’t seem to be too much need of concern.
Riots and trouble may not have faced your city or your town, or even your state…yet.
So you suppose that you can sit idly by and do nothing.
As far as the Bible goes, I don’t think this mentality could be further from the truth.
In this post, I want to echo the words I heard and declare that as believers, our job is to delay the decay.
If our country, our nation, is going to go down a path of destruction, at the very least, the people living in this nation that know God, are called to DELAY the decaying power of the negative, and sometimes satanic things that we hear and see.
- We are agents of change.
- We have the power THROUGH the name of Jesus to DELAY the decay.
Our words, our prayers, our actions…these are all delaying agents.
They operate on a spiritual plane with spiritual power.
Scripture declares to us in Proverbs 18:21 that life and death are in the power of the tongue.
Your words are spiritual dynamite, capable of bringing life or causing death.
Your prayers are the same.
They literally move heaven and earth through faith, and cause things to come into being or cease being…at the very least, your prayers release the power of God to work in the area you are praying for or about.
Let me say that one more time…
Your prayers release the power of God to work in the area you are praying for or about.Your prayers release the power of God to work in the area you are praying for or about. Share
It’s time that we take our responsibility seriously and speak life over the nation, over the people in positions of power, over our regions, states, and towns.
We must also pray life over them.
Some look at statements like these and balk. But the fact remains that the people of God, the body of Christ, the church, does not have to sit by and simply watch as the nation and world go down a path of destruction.
We can be part of the difference.
It is a spiritual fight, designed to be won by spiritual means.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:12-13 NKJV
This is the essence of our fight.
These are the powers seeking to overtake political realms, churches, governments, and people.
It’s not people that are the enemy.
Our enemy is the forces of darkness.
Here’s what Jesus called us to be and do…
Matthew 5:13-16 NKJV
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
We are the SALT of the earth.
Salt delays decay.
This is the supreme call for the church at the present moment.
Decay and spiritual apathy, death, and discouragement are parading in our nation.
Riots break out in the streets.
Our rights, rights that were fought for, rights for which many gave their lives to protect are being pushed down and cast aside.
The church must rise! The church must rise! Share
We must delay the inevitable decay that is taking place.
Why give up now?
Why stop believing NOW?
Why quit praying for awakening?
God is still on the throne.
He is still mightier than anything or anyone, and until the Heavenly Father gives the word, Jesus will not come…so until that day…we must delay the decay.
Jesus says, “if the salt loses it’s flavor,” it is good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled under the foot of men.
He means exactly what he says.
Your beliefs, your faith, your church gatherings, the Bible, your family…all of these things will simply be trampled on by those who embrace the decay.
If we don’t or won’t RISE UP NOW…we have no reason to whine or cry when the decay in our society reaches its climactic end.
Salt resembles our prayers and words.
They might not be seen or recognized by the masses, but I can assure you that every single time you pray and intercede for the nation, the cities, the church, your family, the president, the government, your pastor, and your children…God HEARS YOUR PRAYER!
Mighty warrior angels are dispatched to operate in those areas in which you rise up and pray and intercede.
We are also called to be light.
The church…YOU…are the light of this world right now.
Light is WHO YOU ARE.
Here’s something we must remember…
Who you are on the inside will never remain hidden.
God has made this a principle.
We see this principle in operation every single day.
Make no mistake, when you stand for the things of God, your light WILL be seen.
It might not be as bright as you like or shine as far as you think at first, but just keep on letting the Word of God shine in and through your life.
Because the darker the world becomes, the brighter your light shines.
It’s not the least bit difficult to pick out the smallest light source on a dark night.
Don’t mask your light.
Don’t try to be hidden, but be willing to take a stand.
- Your light shines for your family and points the way to Christ.
- Your light shines at your church and encourages the discouraged.
- Your light reaches into places and people that you never imagine it will reach.
- Your light brings GLORY to God!
We have the ability as Christians to delay the decay for as long as possible.
Let’s do just that for the sake of our kids, and those we love.
Let’s do it for the sake of the lost and hurting.
Let’s do it for the sake of those who need God to move in their life.
Remnant prayer warriors, it’s time to rise.
