We have arrived at a very pivotal moment in history.
Certainly, and without question, you can FEEL the intensity of the times in which we live.
There are things happening around us that press us and push us in all directions.
Influencers try to grasp ahold of us and send us walking in many different directions.
- This is NOT the time for the church to be wishy-washy.
- This is NOT the time for the people of God to stand down.
- This is NOT the time for the Christians of this nation and in the earth to put down their beliefs, prayers, zeal, or bravery and courage.
THIS IS THE TIME TO STAND.
If ever there was a time, now is that time.
We must have believers, men and women of God who will be brave and courageous, unashamed of Jesus and what he has done in their life.
As Nehemiah says…
Nehemiah 4:14 NKJV
And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”
There have to be people who will rise up and fight for those that God has placed in their family, in their church, in their community, and for every believer in the earth.
Jesus, in one place, said that he did did not come to bring peace, but a sword…listen to his own words:
Matthew 10:34-39 NKJV
“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
Jesus is simply saying that, by holding on to what you believe, and the teachings of the Bible, and the ways of God, it will bring a dividing line among people.
Those who don’t know Jesus will NEVER understand why it is we serve the Lord, that is, unless the Lord removes the veil from their eyes and makes them able to see.
2 Corinthians 4:3-6 NKJV
But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
With all this being said…I feel deeply that the Lord placed in my heart to call the people of God to a REGATHERING!
We must have believers who STAND and CALL OUT to their fellow believers and call them to REGATHER.
There is a subtle shift going on in the hearts of many Christians at the moment.
They are becoming accustomed to staying out of the gathering.
Many will say in this last day, “what’s the need?”
But I’m telling you that, as long as we possibly can, WE MUST GATHER.
WE MUST PRAY FOR, AND CALL FOR, A REGATHERING OF THE CHURCH!
Scripture says it plainly:
Hebrews 10:23-25 NKJV
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
I am exhorting you to gather!
I am reminding you, and calling you to gather!
As many as will ever hear this message preached, or read it in print…I’m calling the church to regather!
We clearly see what the manner of some is…that they lay aside the need to gather together, but I would encourage every one of us to remember that gathering is NOT just about you…it is about the body of Christ.
- Don’t lay aside the gathering.
- Don’t be fooled into thinking it is unnecessary.
- Don’t just forsake the people of God because you are used to being out, or because you don’t see the need.
When we gather together, we stir up love and good works among each other, the body of Christ is strengthened, we can pray for one another and encourage each other.
No matter what you hear…YOU NEED THIS GATHERING.
No matter what people think…YOU NEED THIS GATHERING.
This idea of gathering as the body is quickly being lost in our nation, and among the believers of our nation.
People can say I’m wrong…but it won’t change what the Bible says.
People can hate what I’m saying…but it won’t change what the Bible says.
When you and I gather with the people of God and we mingle our faith and hope together, there is a RELEASE of the Spirit of God, and the Power of God flows mightily, and I’M SIMPLY NOT WILLING TO GIVE THAT
It’s time to fight for our brethren to once again SEE and FEEL the need.
Now, for some they will parrot back the words of government and officials that tell us horror stories of the coronavirus, among other things.
And I completely understand that people have died because of this nasty, terrible, plague.
Let me also say, however, that this is NOT the first time the people of God encountered a plague.
All the way back to the point when the children of Israel marched out of Egypt, there have been plagues surrounding us.
I’m asking you, “when did the Lord tell us to give in to FEAR or what the government says?”
Did he ever ask that of us?
In fact, scripture says something completely different in this regard.
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Many would say that, it is wisdom to cease from gathering, but I’m calling on the people of God to remember the many times in scripture when Jesus TOUCHED the leper, when he TOUCHED the sick, when he TOUCHED the hurting.
Healing, salvation, the power of God, the gospel of Jesus, doesn’t come at a distance, these things are something we experience up close and personal.
We’ve never been afraid before.
We’ve never stopped gathering before.
We’ve never ceased everything about our normal life before.
THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR FEAR!
We should not fear a disease, a virus, or even the words of a government, a governor, or their officials.
THE CHURCH MUST STAND.
WE MUST HAVE MEN AND WOMEN OF GOD WHO WILL SOUND THIS CALL BY THEIR ACTIONS, AND WITH THEIR MOUTH, AND TAKE THEIR STAND.
As far as the government is concerned, yes, we respect and honor our leaders, and most certainly, according to scripture we pray for them…we must!
BUT…believers must ultimately remember that we are citizens of a different country, a heavenly nation, where our leader is not a donkey or an elephant, instead our leader is the lamb.
Philippians 3:20 NKJV
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Every believer, every Christian is an ambassador of the heavenly nation.
We are representatives of Jesus in the earth, in our generation.
2 Corinthians 5:20-21 NKJV
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
And the following verse is our message to the earth.
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Jesus is our leader.
Jesus is the author of this heavenly nation, and holy government.
It is on HIS SHOULDERS.
Isaiah 9:6-7 NKJV
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
It’s time for the people of God to BE THE AMBASSADORS WE SHOULD BE, and STAND for Jesus in this hour!
Regathering is where the rubber meets the road.
Regathering is where the people of God renew their strength as they fellowship, commune, and encourage one another.
No matter what ANYONE says…YOU AND I NEED THE GATHERING!
I will be bold enough to say that:
THE GATHERING TOGETHER OF THE CHURCH WILL BE THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE OF WHO REMAINS IN THEIR FAITH AND WHO DOES NOT.
While we have the privilege, we must regather together and seek the Lord together, and pray together, and mingle our faith together.
People in other nations are CURRENTLY dying because of DIFFERENT diseases, other than coronavirus, yet they still gather…
I must ask…is their life in this world any less valuable than ours in the American church?
Christians in Turkey, China, Iraq, North Korea, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, are not worried about if THEY catch a disease or a virus, they concern themselves with whether or not the government will CATCH THEM, and if so, they usually give their life immediately…
I must ask…is their life in this world any less valuable than ours in the American church?
These Christians, in places of extreme persecution, and deadly diseases STILL GATHER TOGETHER.
The truth is, there IS NO American church, Chinese church, or African church, there is simply THE CHURCH.
Our life in this world is no more and no less valuable than anyone else’s, and we MUST LAY ASIDE OUR FEAR and begin to gather again, or we WILL lose our privilege.
If we don’t put down our fear NOW, and BOLDLY REGATHER, we may never fully gather again.
So, if you are not attending church somewhere, I’m calling on you to regather with your spiritual family.
This is the call, God placed on my heart to the body of Christ to REGATHER, RISE UP, TAKE YOUR STAND, LAY ASIDE YOUR FEAR, FIGHT FOR YOUR FAMILY, BE AN AMBASSADOR, AND ENCOURAGE YOUR BRETHREN.
