Jeremiah 29:12-13 NKJV
Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
If only we would seek God with all of our heart…
This is the plea of the Father’s heart to us. For each person this act of seeking God looks different because it is a relationship.
Jesus relates to you where you are, with the stuff you worry about, and the concerns you carry.
He wishes that you would seek him out and “cast your cares” on his shoulders.
The Lord long’s to know you personally, and input into your life. He will lead you, protect you, fulfill you, and provide for you as you seek him with your whole heart.
It’s not a time for halfhearted, barely there, Christianity that is already on life support.
What we need more now than ever is an earnest seeking of God’s face, not just his hands, not just his blessings.
Our whole heart is the requisite.
We cannot give part of our heart to Jesus, it is an all-or-nothing proposal.
He wants everything…but in return he supplies everything!
Our daily prayer should echo the content of David’s prayer…
Psalm 139:23-24 NKJV
Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
“God, is there anything about my life that is displeasing to you?”
”Is there anything that you want to change in my heart?”
These questions and many more like them must be the content of our prayers going forward.
If you and I want to be ready for the return of Jesus and have our heart in a position the Lord can bless, let’s seek him with all our heart and get rid of anything that steers our life away from God.
My challenge to you today is this…
Pray the prayer David prayed, then listen to God’s reply. If there is something the Lord wants to move, shift, or change in your heart…do it.
