Yes, there is a fight for revival.
Yes, there is a fight for the move of God.
Yes, there is a fight to live right, holy, and true in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, as the book of Philippians says.

But…
There are a couple of places where the enemy is fighting the most right now.
There are TWO great fights facing the people of God in this hour:
The fight against FEAR and the fight to REMAIN IN JESUS.

Of the two, the greatest fight for the people of God in this hour will be to REMAIN IN HIM.
Not that we are struggling to be Christians, but that we must now press to be closer to Jesus than ever before.

Not letting go of those things which we have believed…
Not giving in to the lure of the enemy…
Not turning from the place which we have attained to…

We must stay firmly planted in the things that we know to be true and keep ourselves closely connected to the presence and Spirit of Jesus.

Why?
Because deceptive forces come, in all types of packages.
Lies will undercut our faith if we allow the slightest hint of an open door.
This is the time to anchor your soul to what you believe and get ready to defend your faith, not only to the watching world, but also to those voices in your own heart or mind that would seek to sway you…little by little…from your desired destination.

Remember the subtlety of the serpent in the garden of Eden?

He usually never fully twists the truth, to US who know the Lord. He simply turns it enough, to sound believable enough, to cause us to deviate from the right path just enough, to SEPARATE us from the protective covering of the Spirit of God.

He wants to DRAW YOU OUT for a fight.
The Lord is teaching me to stay more connected than ever.
He can only speak to us about our assignments, our responsibilities, our purposes, his plans for our life, and use us on a daily basis, AS WE STAY CONNECTED TO HIM.
He will use whatever means necessary to teach us this lesson.
** Why? Because he loves you!**

The love of God DRAWS PEOPLE NEAR TO HIM.

Speaking of the cross, Jesus said this very thing…

John 12:27-33 NKJV
[27] “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.

Before we read on…let me remind you:

For THIS PURPOSE, your present sense of purpose, the thing surrounding you, the fight that you are in, the praying battling you are taking on, the hope growing in your spirit, the tremendous spiritual effort you are toiling in…FOR THIS PURPOSE YOU CAME TO THIS HOUR.

Let me give a word of warning:

Don’t try to get out of the very thing that God brought you to > your current place to do battle with.
You are WHERE YOU ARE for a reason.
God is establishing you WITH A PURPOSE.
You WILL NOT LOSE the battle you are in.
You WILL NOT cower down to the enemy.
You WILL NOT be the one facing defeat.

The God of heaven and earth says that HE IS FOR YOU TODAY.
It wasn’t just an empty promise.
It was a promise of power for the moment that you now find yourself in.
The church will never lose its power because it is connected to the head, which is Jesus.
Likewise, “you will not be defeated as long as you are connected to me,” says the Lord!

Jesus prayed…

[28] Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.” [29] Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.” [30] Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake. [31] Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. [32] And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” [33] This He said, signifying by what death He would die.

Because of the cross, the love of God is displayed to the world.
This love seeks to draw us towards Jesus.

Like a magnet, it pulls at the hearts of men, leading us towards repentance.

So the battle is ultimately for our HEART!

Remember this:

  • Whatever turns your heart, eventually turns your life.
  • Seeds that are planted in your heart, will eventually affect your life.
  • So, the battle against you is to keep you from digging up the evil seeds the enemy or even your flesh, tries to plant in your heart.

As our heart remains CLOSE…and “IN HIM,” we become resilient against enemy seeds, but the moment we turn from the right way, even in the slightest, a door opens in our heart, a door the enemy will seek to use against us.

Satan is trying to keep the people of God from experiencing the HARVEST and the MOVE OF GOD for this hour!

Revival is at the DOOR.
It is almost here.
Something is happening in our nation and in the church.
There is a preparation taking place, and the devil recognizes this.
God is preparing people to receive his glory and walk on a new plane of spiritual experience with him.

God is preparing his people to receive a harvest of souls.

God is preparing his church for a great move of his Spirit.

Enemy forces are watching this transpire and they know there is no hope for them through using a frontal attack.

Don’t forget this one thing:
Enemy forces, demons, and devils are seeking to gain entrance through cracks in your heart.
*Through places where your heart is not as deeply connected to Jesus, *
Through places where your heart has been hurt.
And yes, through places where you have allowed wrong desire to lead you to sin.

Here’s there answer:
WE MUST KEEP THESE DOORS CLOSED!

Hear me…
WHATEVER IT TAKES OR COSTS YOU, CLOSE YOUR DOORS!
The second fight we are facing in this hour is this:

We FIGHT AGAINST FEAR.

There is a war being waged against the people of God.
We live in a time when the hearts of men will fail them for fear of the things they see coming on the earth.

This is exactly what scripture says.

Luke 21:26 NKJV
[26] men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Here’s what we must understand…

Fear NEEDS focus to survive.

Simply put, fear cannot live without the moist, nutrient soil of FOCUS.

Whatever we focus on the most, either feeds our fear or frees us from fear.

I am not advocating that we abdicate our watchfulness, rather,
that we focus on the right things.

Philippians 4:6-8 NKJV
[6] Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; [7] and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. [8] Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.

Right thoughts.
Right actions.
Right hope.

As the people of God…

  • Our hope is not found in the government or in anything it can
    provide.
  • Our hope is not found in the strength of our intellect or inventiveness.
  • Our hope is not found even in the unity of our nation.
  • Our hope is not found in the message of peace and safety going out to the world.

Instead, the hope that stabilizes the people of God is found in Jesus himself.

Acts 17:22-28 NKJV
[22] Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; [23] for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: [24] “God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. [25] Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. [26] And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, [27] so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; [28] for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’

IN Him… we live, and move, and have our being!

There is an old song that says…
“I’ve anchored in Jesus, the storms of life I’ll brave.
I’ve Anchored in Jesus, I fear No wind or wave.
I’ve anchored in Jesus, for he has power to save.
I’ve anchored in the Rock of Ages.”

There is NO REASON TO FEAR when we have anchored our soul to Jesus himself.

No matter what we see coming, we must remember:
He is the beginning and the end.
He is the alpha and the omega.
He is the first and the last.
He is the one who was dead, but now is alive.
He is the Word of God made flesh.
He is the Author and FINISHER of our faith.
He is the FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATERS.
He is the restorer of my soul.
He is the one who sets my feet on the unmoving, unswerving, unalterable ROCK…the ROCK ON WHICH I STAND.

Nothing can stand before him.
Nothing can defeat him.
Nothing can overpower him.
And…
NOTHING can stop him once he has determined to take you through your problems, storms, difficulties, and circumstances.

If it is a world-wide FLOOD, Jesus is the ark of safety.
If it is a pandemic, Jesus is the healer.
If it is a famine, Jesus is the bread of life.
If it is a drought, Jesus is the water of life.

Nothing stands in the way of God and survives…including FEAR!

What does the Bible say?

2 Timothy 1:6-7 NKJV
[6] Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. [7] For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

What must we do to conquer FEAR and REMAIN IN JESUS?

First, we need to STIR UP the things of God that are already INSIDE OF US.

The things of God are gifts in our life.

Did you know that you can “stir up” holiness?
I didn’t say that you can “produce” holiness…but absolutely, we can stir up the desire for holiness.

Holiness comes from God alone, but you have the power to stir up your desire for more of God, more of his character in your life, more of who HE IS, to live inside of you.

You can “stir up” a desire to be CLOSER TO JESUS.
We REMAIN in Jesus through abiding in his presence, and staying in his word.
You have the power to STIR UP your desire to abide deeper in Jesus.

It is TIME TO STIR UP SOME HOLY FIRE ON THE INSIDE OF OUR BELLY, AND QUIT ACQUIESCING TO THE THINGS OF THE WORLD.

Second, we must realize that FEAR is a SPIRIT.
We know how to defeat evil spirits.
Jesus has given us authority to BIND THEM and CAST THEM OUT.

The people of God must start being proactive against spirits of fear and apathy in this hour.

God HAS NOT given a spirit of fear…
BUT…
A SPIRIT OF POWER.
A SPIRIT OF LOVE.
A SPIRIT OF A SOUND MIND.
Did you ever stop to consider what the verse actually says?
God DID GIVE US A SPIRIT…
He is the Lord’s HOLY SPIRIT.

Holy Spirit is the spirit of love, the Spirit of power, and the Spirit of a sound mind.

Let him have his way in your life.
Let him control your mind, heart, and words.
Let him speak into your heart.
Let him fight against anything that would keep you from remaining close to Jesus.
Let his fight against all forms of fear in your life.

REVIVAL IS SO CLOSE.

THIS IS THE MOMENT TO FIGHT FOR WHAT WE SEE COMING!

Larry Shankle

My heart is for the church that Jesus is building and returning for...the church that the gates of hell will not prevail against.
More than anything, the desire of my heart is to see the greatest revival of the Holy Spirit, salvations, spiritual awakening, and for the miraculous to come back to the church, preparing believers for the return of Jesus.
